Milford Branch Suzuki Academy 2011-2012

Plus a satellite location in Lewes. Suzuki Academy instruction is also available at the Wilmington Branch.

PRIVATE STUDY

Suzuki violin is currently offered at the Milford Branch. Student and parent/caregiver attend weekly lessons that follow the school’s quarterly lesson schedule. Private study day/time is arranged through the Office Manager and is subject to instructor availability. 


GROUP CLASSES

Attendance at biweekly group classes is mandatory for all Milford Branch Suzuki Academy students and is considered an integral part of the Suzuki method, as students learn crucial listening and social skills by interacting in the group environment. Specific group assignments are determined by each student’s individual development and advancement through the Suzuki literature. Parents are expected to observe group classes.

PARENT CLASSES

SUZUKI CLASS FOR NEW PARENTS—PHILOSOPHY OVERVIEW
New Suzuki parents (Music School faculty)
Wednesday, August 31, 2011–6:30-8:30 p.m.
All parents of new Suzuki Academy students are required to attend this introductory class prior to beginning lessons or group classes. Since the Suzuki method is a cooperative experience and the learning process is shared between the teacher, child and parent/caregiver, it is critical that the parent/caregiver understand the basics of the philosophy.    
ENROLLMENT: One 2-hour session; contact the Office Manager to register
TUITION: Included in Suzuki tuition; $45 for others

TUITION

Tuition for the Milford Branch Suzuki Academy includes private study, mandatory biweekly group classes (8 per semester), student recital participation (including piano accompaniment fees), Suzuki Academy workshops and events and Suzuki Class for New Parents. Materials—books, music and CDs—must be purchased separately.

30-minute lesson + group class   $612
45-minute lesson + group class   $860

*A 5% discount on tuition applies when entire year’s tuition (2 semesters) is paid in full by September 23, 2011.
