The Music School of Delaware Announces New Programs and Audition Dates for Fall 2010

(WILMINGTON, DEL.) August 25, 2010– The Music School of Delaware, the state’s only nationally accredited community music school, is now enrolling children, teens and adults of all music levels for the 2010-2011 academic year beginning in September. The Music School offers standard-setting instructional programs at statewide locations in Wilmington, Pike Creek, Middletown, Milford, Dover, Felton, Angola/Long Neck and Seaford.


New programs include Introduction to Creative Music, Improvisation & Composition class for ages 9 to 12; Delaware Young Composers class for ages 13 to 18; Advanced Placement Theory Exam Preparation class for ages 14 to 18; and Class Voice for Church Musicians for adults. In addition, the Music School has expanded its Suzuki Academy faculty to open up spaces for new students in the regionally recognized program.


The Music School of Delaware also offers instrumental and vocal ensembles from chamber groups to large ensembles for children, teens and adults at every level. New ensembles include the Adult Flute Ensemble for adults and Select Chamber Choir for ages 14 to 18. Interested ensemble participants should call 302-762-1132 to schedule an audition for youth and teen ensembles or an individual assessment for adult ensembles.


Youth and teen ensemble auditions will be held on the following dates:
• Saturday, September 11, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, September 14, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, September 15, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
