Music School Alum Aubrey Plaza Supports Race to the Music 5K Run/Walk
(WILMINGTON, DEL.) August 24, 2010– Music School alumna and Wilmington native Aubrey Plaza of NBC’s Parks and Recreation announces her support of the inaugural Race to the Music 5k on September 12, 2010. In a personal message on the Race to the Music website, Plaza asks for people to show their support of the Music School by joining or donating to her 5k race “Team Parks and Rec.” As an incentive, Plaza will give all team participants and donors a signed Parks and Recreation cast picture.
Born and raised in Wilmington, Plaza studied piano at The Music School of Delaware, formerly The Wilmington Music School, and graduated from Ursuline Academy in 2002 and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2006.
Plaza stars as the uninspired intern, April Ludgate, on NBC’s Parks and Recreation. The actress, writer and comedienne has been performing improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater since 2004. She also stars in Funny People, Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life, Mystery Team, The Jeanne Tate Show and ESPN’s Mayne Street.
