The Music School of Delaware Announces Race to the Music 5k Run/Walk

(WILMINGTON, DEL.) July 13, 2010– The Music School of Delaware, the state’s only nationally accredited community music school, will kick-off its 2010-2011 academic year with a Race to the Music 5k run/walk on September 12, 2010. The family friendly race will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Music School’s Wilmington Branch located at 4101 Washington Street.
“As a non-profit organization, the Music School relies on contributed income to support its programs and services,” says President & CEO Kate M. Ransom. “The run/walk is a fun, family oriented event open to the entire community. It’s healthy fun for a great cause.”
All proceeds from the Race to the Music will support the Music School’s mission to provide excellence in music education, training and experiences for people of all ages and levels of ability. The Music School of Delaware, with locations statewide, is a non-profit organization and its admission and scholarship policies encourage motivated students regardless of age, race creed, gender, national origin or disability.

Entry Fee: $18 advance (by Sept. 9) / $22 after Sept. 9; $12 for children ages 6 to 12; FREE for children 5 and under

Founded in 1924, The Music School of Delaware reaches thousands of people from Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland through its instructional programs and 75 public performances each year. The Music School is the only nationally accredited program of its kind in Delaware and is the only statewide accredited community music school in the nation.
