WILMINGTON COMMUNITY ORCHESTRA: 3 Big Bs
February 7, 3:00 p.m.; Tickets $10 adults, $5 seniors/students

The Wilmington Community Orchestra, under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Richard Prior, will perform works by Bach, Beethoven and Brahms with feature performances by the Wilmington Community Orchestra conductor Dr. Timothy Schwarz, violin, and Lawrence Stomberg, guest cello.
PIANO MASTER CLASS: Hiroko Yamazaki

Music School faculty member Hiroko Yamazaki will lead a piano master class at the Music School's Milford Branch. The master class is free and open to the public.
CULTURAL CROSSROADS PROGRAM: Arts of the Middle East and Central Asia
February 21, 2:00 p.m. Workshop, 3:00pm Concert; Tickets $10 adults, $5 seniors/students
Wilmington Branch: 4101 Washington St, Wilmington
The Music School of Delaware presents Arts of the Middle East and Central Asia. In this concert, the Delaware Children’s Chorus will perform Afghan children’s music and a work called the Iraqi Peace Song, all accompanied on traditional instruments. Music School faculty ensembles will perform songs of the Sephardic Jews and music of the Lebanese composer, Charbel Rouhana. Guest dancer, Almaaza, will present dancing traditions from Egypt and Syria. Guest artists will perform an extensive set of folk music from Turkey and Armenia. Concertgoers are invited to enter a raffle drawing to win an authentic Turkish saz! A belly dance workshop, led by Almaaza, will begin at 2pm. Please register by Feb. 17th by calling 302-762-1132. This collaborative choral concert features the University of Delaware Women's Chorus and the Music School's Delaware Women's Chorus.

This fun and inviting family concert features popular dance works such as Tchaikovsky’s “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies.” An Instrument Petting Zoo will follow the concert for children to meet the instruments of the orchestra. MUSIC MASTERS CONCERT: A Schumann Celebration, 200 Years!

The talented Music School faculty and special guest Marka Kasker Simmons, viola, will perform in a special concert honoring great composer Robert Schumann 200th birthday. Program works will include Schumann’s Piano Trio in d minor, Op. 63, No. 1, and Piano Quintet in E-flat Major, Op. 44.

Founded in 1924, The Music School of Delaware reaches thousands of people from Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland through its instructional programs and 75 public performances each year. The Music School is the only nationally accredited program of its kind in Delaware and is the only statewide accredited community music school in the nation.
